SUMMARY:My Home My Way Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn about individualised living arrangements for people with disability as an alternative to group homes.\n\n\nHome is an essential part of our lives. Her experience has shaped her commitment to peer-led initiatives and supporting families to plan safe\, supported futures for their loved ones. \n \nMagdalena Garcia Flynn – Specialist Project Officer – Shaping Tomorrow \nOver the past three years\, Mags and her team have supported 350 people with disability and their families seeking individualised living arrangements. \nShe’ll discuss her role in providing practical support and mentoring families in their journey\, helping them build the capacity to set up and sustain living arrangements that aren’t group homes. As Mags says\, the transition to an individualised home is a journey that’s as unique as you are. \nTicketing \nThis is a Department of Social Services sponsored event for People with Disability and Families: \n\nPeople with disability and families that can use NDIS funding – $50 (ex GST)\nPeople with a disability and families paying from their own resources – $55 (incl GST)\nConcession – People with disability and families unable to use NDIS funding or who find the ticket price a barrier at this time – $0\nProfessionals -$75\n\n \nAbout Valued Lives \nValued Lives has built a reputation for providing personalised support uniquely tailored to your needs\, owned and driven by you. \nIt was founded in 2013 by a group of families with lived experience who saw a gap in the support offered \, and were driven to improve and personalise the support available to people with disability. \nWe continue to strive for an inclusive society for people with disability\, where better support helps to create valued roles. \n \nFor further information contact us on 08 9274 7760\, or email info@valuedlives.org.au \n \nValued Lives Event Photography and Videography: I acknowledge that Valued Lives will take photos and/or videos at Valued Lives Foundation events.
