School to Work Toolkit

A toolkit to help teachers support students with developmental disability use person-centred approaches to prepare for the transition from school to employment.

Customised Employment and Discovery are evidence-based approaches that result in sustained employment for people with disability. The Valued Lives Foundation partnered with students and educational staff to translate customised employment approaches into classroom application.

The toolkit is easy to use, practical and full of informative and innovative ways for teachers, students and families to be better prepared when navigating post-school pathways.

Valued Lives Foundation is a Western Australian provider of quality person-centred services and supports. The toolkit was an initiative of the Department of Communities (WA) and developed with the assistance of students and educational staff from Leeming Senior High School Education Support Centre and Castlereagh School.
